List of Outdoor Racing Sports A-Z

List of Outdoor Racing Sports

Outdoor racing sports are sports where athletes compete in a race within some sort of outdoor venue, such as a racetrack, racecourse, street, or other outdoor spaces. Many outdoor races are foot races, where athletes use their own power to run, but other forms of outdoor racing involve certain vehicles, such as bicycles, boards, skis, cars, and even animals. Outdoor racing sports come in a variety of forms, with some being fixed races between two points, others being lengthier races, and still, others being races where athletes complete a set number of laps around a given space.

Outdoor racing sports can be practiced both amateurly and professionally.  Many people enjoy outdoor racing sports as hobbies or challenges and will train on their own time to accomplish certain goals, such as running a 5K or a marathon. Others, however, want to pursue outdoor racing sports professionally. Many even seek to enter the Olympic Games, where various outdoor running sports, such as marathons and relay races, are held to showcase the top runners from various countries around the world.
