The US Men's team is hoping to be able to avenge their previous failure to qualify for 2018 World Cup and have a goal in mind to compete as one of the sixteen teams in the upcoming summer Olympics.
Teams who have qualified so far:
|Brazil||Côte D'ivoire (Ivory Coast)|
|Korea Republic||New Zealand|
This is a big opportunity for the United States, as they have not been a participant in the Summer Olympics since 2008.
From March 20 through April 1, the US will face off against Mexico, Costa Rica, and the Dominican Republic in the group stage of the qualifying tournament with a hope to come out victorious. It won't be easy, but they have a legitimate shot if they play to the best of their abilities. The other four teams facing off for Group B include Honduras, Canada, El Salvador and Haiti. Throughout the last few weeks, the United States has been playing a handful of Concacaf exhibitions and friendly games to prepare for the competition to come.
