This incredibly written book, written by Charlie Kelly, serves as a perfect representation of the rich history of mountain biking and deserves a spot on this list rightfully so. Not only is the history of this sport rich and entertaining, but it often is unbelievable which makes this a must read for readers either already versed in the history or new to the sport altogether.

Into the North Wind, written by Jill Homer, is a book chronicling the true story of her epic journey to ride across Alaska on the Iditarod trail. This ride spans over one thousand miles and is one of the most difficult trails in the world. After years of training and dreaming, this true story is an incredible adventure that keeps you interested from the beginning. Her mantras and work ethic are truly inspiring. This book deserves a spot on this list because of the scale of her accomplishment. This book is extremely well written and her story is second to none.

Not only is it a very well written book, but it is an all encompassing book that accurately describes the history of the sport. Additionally, this title includes many lessons and information for the beginner mountain biker. This is an amazing read and well worth picking up even if you have no knowledge of the sport to begin with.

This skills book is essential for mountain biking beginners and experts. Not only is this an incredibly informative title, but includes the skills and techniques to to ride at the next level. Written by Brian Lopes and Lee McCormack, this book is the work of world class mountain bikers that want to teach the masses the ins and outs of the sport. This book includes trail, downhill, cross country, racing, and more subjects pertaining to the sport. This well written and all encompassing book serves as a testament to the sport and is well worth a read.

Being one of the best endurance riders in history, Rebecca Rusch is a legend in her own right. Even though she was one of the best athletes of her generation, her beginning was very ordinary. In Rusch to Glory, written by Rebecca Rusch and Selene Yeager, readers follow the life of this extraordinary athlete: her challenges, struggles, and accomplishments. This book follows her out of college and her choice to abandon a normal life and find adventure in traveling and doing what she loves. This book is extremely well written and follows an amazing story of a three time world champion mountain biker whose story will inspire anyone who reads it.
