Nikita Kucherov has recently proven himself in the National Hockey League as one of the top professional hockey players of the twenty-first century. Although Nikita was drafted into the National Hockey League as the 58th overall draft pick back in 2011, it has not been until the past five or so years that he has really made a name for himself. Born in Russia, Kucherov has played for the Tampa Bay Lightning NHL team since he was drafted to play for them in 2011. He has more recently received some of the greatest honors that an ice hockey player can earn including the Hart Memorial Trophy just last year in 2019.

Nikita Kucherov's professional hockey career officially began back in 2011 when he was selected as the fifty-eighth overall pick in the National Hockey League's draft. Nikita has continued playing predominately for the Tampa Bay Lighting for the entirety of his professional ice hockey career in the National Hockey League to this day. Although Nikita has had an extremely successful career with the Tampa Bay Lightning, their only Stanley Cup victory was back in 2004, and therefore he has not been successful in competing to win the greatest title in the industry.

Kucherov has had an extremely successful career in spite not winning the Stanley Cup Trophy, and just last season in 2019 he won some of the most prestigious awards that a professional hockey player can win which are listed below in the Titles and Awards section. He won these after earning a record one-hundred and twenty-eight point regular season as one of the top offensive players for Tampa Bay.

Titles and Awards

Right before he officially began his professional career as a national hockey player for the Tampa Bay Lightning team, Nikita was awarded the U18 First Team All-Star award back in 2011. Then, a few years later in 2015 he was named the Plus-Minus award before being asked to be on the Second All-Star team 2017. A few years later, and much more recently Kucherov was invited to participate on the NHL-All Star team the past three seasons in a row in 2017, 2018, and 2019, and in addition has been named to the First All-Star team in both 2018 and 2019.

After an extremely successful season in 2019 Nikita won three of the most prestigious professional hockey awards including the Art Ross Trophy, the Ted Lindsay Award and the Hart Memorial Trophy. Unfortunately, The Tampa Bay Lightning has not secured a Stanley Cup Trophy win since they won their first one back during the 2003-2004 season, and therefore Nikita has not won the title yet during his career.

Although Nikita Kucherov is extremely private when it comes to his personal life and his family in terms of a media presence, it is common knowledge that he was actually born in Russia in the town of Maykop. His full name given to him by his biological parents Igor and Svetlana Kucherova is Nikita Igorevich Kucherov, and although he grew up being raised mainly by his grandmother, his parents still live where he was born in Maykop, Russia.

He is an only child and has been married to his wife Anastasiya since they got married back in June of 2015. Nikita and Anastasiya have only one son together, as of 2020, and his name is Maxim.
