What is aggregate score in soccer?
A system of scoring in soccer, called the aggregate for short, normally applied to teams when they play each other in a two legged format (tournaments and playoffs). It works by adding the scores from two matches together to determine the winner. If the scores remain tied the away goal rule is normally used to determine a winner. Here's an example: if the first game has a score of 3 2 and the second game has a score of 1 1, the aggregate is 4 3.
