What is Regulation in Football?
Regulation in football is a term used to describe the set amount of time a football game is to take place. The regulation time for a standard football game is 60 minutes, divided into four 15 minute quarters, or two halves. At the halfway point of the game, halftime, the regulation time is half over. At the end of the regulation time, the team with the most points wins the game. If the game is tied at the end of regulation, the game goes into overtime. Overtime is not considered a part of regulation time.
