Basketball At-Large Bid

An at-large bid in basketball is one of the 36 spots available for the teams that have not been able to secure one of the 32 automatic bids for March Madness. The at-large bids are awarded to the 36 teams that the selection committee believes are the most qualified to participate in that year's March Madness, and are determined by an unbiased, educated vote, held through a secret ballot.
