What is disc golf?

Disc golf is a type of frisbee game that first emerged in Canada in the early 1900s and it is now played nationwide in tournaments. The game is a mixture of frisbee and golf, where the aim is to throw a frisbee into a target. The target has chains that hang from it, and if the frisbee hits the chains, there is a good chance the frisbee will go in. The goal is to sink a target with the least amount of throws.

There are both nine and 18 hole courses, and there isn't a limit to how many players can participate. The scoring technique is called "stroke play" where each player tries to match the par for each hole and earn the lowest score.

Each hole provides the golfer with a starting position, also called a tee position, and obstacles that may present challenges.

The disc golf uniform is typically athletic wear. The sport can also be played leisurely or competitively. There are a few different types of throws in disc golf, some being the backhand, forehand, or even the hatchet.

This sport is played by more men than women, but it is accessible to people of all ages. Keep reading to learn more about disc golf and exactly what it entails.
