What are boxing shoes?

Ring shoes come in a number of styles and materials, but a good boxing shoe will provide two things: grip and ankle support. Rings can often get wet and slippery with blood or sweat, and avoiding slipping is a key component for any boxer. Often, shoe companies like Adidas and Nike will use gum rubber soles to achieve this superior traction. Additionally, many boxers would not be able to continue a fight if they were to roll their ankle, this is why most shoes feature a high cut, meaning the shoe looks sort of like a boot.
