A player's fouls they commit during the game are recorded and differentiated from offensive and defensive.

Shooting Percentages

Shooting percentages are calculated with the equation: shots made divided by attempted. The box score tracks a player's field goal percentage (all shots during the game excluding free throws), three point percentage (only three pointers), and free throw percentage (only free throws).

Field Goal Percentage

Field goal percentage is a statistic that describes a player or team's success rate when shooting field goals. Remember that a field goal is any basket made in basketball, except for a free throw. This includes shots from inside or outside of the 3-point line, so a field goal could be worth 2 points or 3 points.

Free Throw Percentage

The free throw percentage in basketball is a statistic that measures a player's or team's success when shooting free throws. To calculate a free throw percentage, you divide made free throws by the free throws attempted. If a player attempted 15 free throws in a game and made 10 this is what his free throw percentage would be 0.66 or 66%.

Finally, the box score notes how many fans were at the game that was played. This is done for informational purposes.
