Baseball slugging percentage

What is baseball slugging percentage?

A slugging percentage in baseball is a statistic measuring the number of bases a player reaches per at-bat. It is useful for evaluating a batter's ability to hit with power. To calculate, add the number of singles a batter has hit, the number of doubles multiplied by two, the number of triples multiplied by three, and the number of home runs multiplied by four. Divide the sum by the batter's total number of at-bats.
