Net Worth

Currently, Juan Soto has a net worth that is estimated to be around $10 million. Prior to the 2022 season, Soto agreed to a one-year, $17.1 million dollar contract with the Nationals to avoid arbitration. He did so once again in 2023 with the San Diego Padres, this time a one year deal worth $23 million. Soto currently has endorsement deals with several companies,  including Under Armour, Topps, GoDominicanRepublic.com, and Secrets Resort and Spa.

Career

Soto signed with the Washington Nationals as an international free agent out of the Dominican Republic in July 2015. He made his professional debut the following season with the Nationals rookie ball team in the Gulf Coast league. He quickly rose through the Nationals minor league system, making his way through rookie ball, Low Class A, High Class A, Class A advanced, and Double A all within less than two years.

On May 20, 2018, Soto was called up to the major leagues directly from Double A Hagerstown. Once he reached the big leagues, he never looked back. He had an outstanding rookie campaign and only grew from there, quickly turning into one of the game’s biggest stars. After four and a half years with the Nationals and a World Series title in 2019, Soto and teammate Josh Bell were traded to the San Diego Padres in a blockbuster deal in July 2022. Soto will play in 2023 for the Padres before becoming one of the more sought-after free agents in the 2023 offseason.

Titles and Awards

Considering he has only played five seasons in the MLB, Soto has racked up an impressive number of awards. The highlight of his career thus far was when, at just twenty-one years old, he helped lead the Nationals to a World Series title in 2019. In those 2019 playoffs, Soto recorded eighteen hits, hit five home runs, and drove in fourteen runs

As for his individual awards, Soto was the runner-up for the Rookie of the Year award in 2016, and he has made the All-Star team in both 2021 and 2022. Additionally, he has won a Silver Slugger award for outfielders in each of the past three seasons (2020-2022), and he was the Home Run Derby champion in 2022. In 2020, his .351 batting average led the National league, earning him a batting title for the shortened season that year.

Personal Life

On October 25, 1998, Juan José Soto Pacheco was born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic to his parents, Juan Soto Sr. and Belkis Pacheco. He is the middle child of three children, having an older sister and a younger brother. His younger brother, Elian Soto, is a highly regarded baseball player in his own right, and he signed with Juan’s former team, the Nationals, in January 2023 as an international free agent once he was eligible.

Juan Soto Sr. did not quite have the talent level his two sons currently possess, but he did play baseball in a local men’s league in the Dominican Republic when he was not doing his everyday job as a salesman. He always encouraged his elder son to play the game of baseball and do so with passion, something Juan has taken to heart all the way to the major leagues. Soto Jr. is still very much connected to his home country, and he even represented them in the 2023 World Baseball Classic.
