Baseball pants might cover a players legs, but don't necessarily provide protection that players need when hitting the ground to slide in safe or make the diving catch. That's where sliding shorts come in. Underneath baseball pants, players often wear these shorts that have padding on the thigh and rear end area to protect against bruising. They're most often form-fitted and made of moisture-wicking material to take care of any sweat. These aren't a required piece of equipment, but might save a player a few injuries and break some of those falls, you can never be too safe!
