In this chapter, we will learn about the strike system in baseball and how outs are determined to end innings in baseball games.

Baseball Strike System

When a pitcher pitches the baseball to home plate to the catcher, the pitch will be called as either a strike or a ball by the umpire. It's all determined by an imaginary zone on at home plate called the strike zone.

What We'll Be Learning

In this chapter, we will learn about the strike system in baseball. This chapter is broken down into a few parts starting with an explanation of the strike zone followed by tutorials on strikes and balls. We'll cover what happens when four (4) balls are pitched and batters are walked as well as how to keep track of the number of strikes and balls in something called the count.
